Terrey Hills vs Pennant Hills – Pennant Hills

A cold, wet morning with early fog patches was not a very enticing proposition for our squad, who had to travel to Pennant Hills for our return match against this strong outfit. Worse still, the early flu season had struck at the core of the team and we had to call in our “Super Sub” Frank Keenan, as our 8th player, and while he won the Senior Club Championships, a few years ago, at Terrey Hills, plus many glorious rounds in his homeland, New Zealand , his recent form was not so good due to lack of playing time.

Jason was still sick, Victor, Mark, Steve and Craig were out, Frank was in, but we still had some good depth to the team as presented at the course.

The day was bitterly cold, wet underfoot with little run, and the course often played 2-3 clubs longer due to the conditions, so it was difficult for players to manage yardages to small, sloping greens. Pennant Hills definitely had an advantage at home on this day!
