Major Events

Monthly Medals

Monthly Medals are held on the first Saturday of each month, except where Public Holidays are deemed to make that date impractical. For ‘A’ & ‘B’ Grade only, play will be from the black tees except for the December event, which will be from the blue tees. Lady ‘A’ & ‘B’ Graders are to play from white tee markers. To participate in medal play the handicap maximum for men is 27 and women 36. In circumstances such as inclement weather where parts of the course (eg. bunkers) are declared unplayable by the Course Superintendent, the Monthly Medal will not be played. An Individual Stableford event will be substituted, with the Medal postponed to the next Saturday irrespective of weather conditions.

Callaway Tiger Competition

3rd Friday of every month

This event is open to all members and their guests with an AGU handicap. Nett and scratch prizes are on offer. The nett winner from each month plus any players shooting 35 points or more will be eligible to proceed through to the yearly playoff, scheduled for Friday 16th October. All qualifiers for the play-off will be notified in due course.

Four Ball Knockout Match Play Competition

4th February – 12th March 2017

A qualifying round will be played on 6th Feb and the top 32 pairs will proceed to elimination matchplay. The elimination rounds must be played on the nominated dates and times in the fixture schedule. Round 1 will commence on the 18th February, 25/2, 4/3 &11/12). The final match must be played on 12th March 2016 at 8.30am. The maximum handicaps to apply are 27 for men and 36 for women.

Commemoration Cup

11th February 2017

Individual Stableford (trophy) and Multiplier. This event celebrates the Opening of the Club in February 1994. If required the event will be decided by countback.

Autumn Cup and Presentations 

18th March 2017 ( Rescheduled 20th May)

A 2BBB (trophy) + Individual Stableford event. Format will be an 8am ‘shotgun’ start followed by lunch and the 2016 Major event presentations. Maximum handicaps to apply will be 27 for men and 36 for women. The cost to participate in this event is $38 which includes competition fee and lunch.

NSW Golf Association Major Pennant Finals 

2nd April 2017 – (Course Closed to members)

Course closed as we are hosting the Major Pennant Finals of both mens and ladies grade pennants. Spectators are welcome at the club.

Foursomes Championship

22nd April 2017

This event, properly known as ‘Scotch’ foursomes, requires the partners to hit off alternative tees and to play shots alternatively on each hole. The event will be 36 holes Stroke for A Grade and 18 holes Stroke for B & C Grade.

Senior’s Club Championships – Match Play

29th April – 14th May 2017

This year’s Championship will be decided by elimination match play by the players (who have turned 60 years of age prior to 29th April with the best eight (8) gross scores in the qualifying on 29th April and 6th May. Successful players must confirm their intention to play the match play rounds no later than 5.00pm on the 6th May in order that the automatic draw can be completed.

All matches must be played on the dates set down on the website. The Match Committee will not permit matches to be played either before or after the nominated dates and players should consider this restriction before confirming their participation in the match play rounds.

All men play from Blue Tees, All ladies play from Gold Tees.

President’s Cup

10th June 2017

Individual competition for magnificent perpetual trophy and replica donated by Foundation President, Mr Kazuyuki Ohashi. Maximum handicaps to apply will be 27 for men and 36 for women. If required the event will be decided by playoff.

Winter Cup (Short Course) and 2016 Major Golf Event Presentations

17th June 2017

Single Stableford (trophy) + Best 3 Ball. Format will be an 8:00am ‘shotgun’ start followed by lunch and the 2016 Major Event presentations which have been postponed from the Autumn Cup. The cost to participate in this event is $38 which includes competition fee and lunch.Maximum handicaps to apply will be 27 for men and 36 for women.

Captains Trophy (Single Match Play Competition)

8th July 2017- 13th August 2017

An elimination handicap match play event. Top 32 players on 8th July to qualify to participate in knock-out competition. The elimination rounds must be played at the dates and times nominated in the fixtures schedule, unless an earlier date and time can be agreed by both parties. Dates are as follows: 15 July, 29 July, 5th August 12th August and 13th August. The final match must be played on 13th August from 8.30am. Maximum handicaps to apply will be 27 for men and 36 for women.

Hemisphere Cup 

22nd of July 2017

12:30pm Shotgun Start

The 3rd Annual Battle of the Northern versus Southern Hemispheres is on again at the Club.

The format is match play to determine which Hemisphere dominates the World!!…..Well, maybe only just gloating for the afternoon at the club.

Stay for the post golf fun with the presentation of the Hemisphere Cup to the winning team, during which an array of internationally inspired canapes and drinks will be served as part of the inclusions for all participants.

Short Course Championship

25th August 2017

18 hole Stroke event –  Event will be played from the White/Gold tees. Maximum handicaps to apply will be 27 for men and 36 for women. 

Spring Cup

9th September 2017

Single Stableford (trophy) + 2 Ball Aggregate event. 8am ‘shotgun’ start followed by lunch and presentations. The cost participate in this event is $36 which includes competition fee and lunch.

 

Club Championship

11th November – 26th November 2017

This year’s championships will be decided by elimination match play by the players with the best eight (8) gross in each grade in the qualifying rounds on  11th & 18th November. Successful players must confirm their intention to participate in the match play rounds no later than 7.00pm on (18th November) in order that the automatic draw can be completed. All matches must be played on the dates set down on the website. The match committee will not permit matches to be played either before or after the nominated dates and players should consider this restriction before confirming their participation in the match play rounds.

For Women, the event will also be contested by match play following the stroke play qualifying on 11th November & 18th November.

Play in all rounds will be from the following tees:

* A & B Grade  –  Black Tees

* C Grade         –   Blue Tees

* Ladies           –  Gold Tees

**Competitors in the ‘A’ grade Championship must provide medical certificates to be entitled to use golf carts!!

Peninsula Country Club Challenge

25th November 2017

Club team Aggregate Stableford event. Teams Individual event played between Terrey Hills, Monash and Elanora .To be played at Monash.

Monthly Medal Final

2nd December 2017

The Monthly Medal Final is contested between all players who have won a Monthly Medal in any grade in the previous twelve months. The Medal winners for December will compete for the Medal Final in the following year. There is only one winner (ie. no grades) and handicaps for all players will be those applying on the date of the final, not the date of qualifying. All players will play from the blue tees, and the A Grade December Medal, played in conjunction, also will be from the blue tees for this month only. Maximum handicaps to apply will be 27 for men and 36 for women. In the event of a playoff, the playoff date will be the February medal.

Brian Pettit Plate

2nd December 2017

This event, conducted in conjunction with the Monthly Medal Final, has been established in honour of our founding Captain, Mr Brian Pettit. The winner will be the player with the best nett score on the day, irrespective of whether that player has won a monthly medal during the year. Maximum handicaps to apply will be 27 for men and 36 for women. In the event of a playoff, the playoff date will be the February medal.

Summer Cup (Long Course)

9th December 2017

Individual Stableford + Irish 4BBB. Format will be an 8:00am shotgun start followed by lunch and presentations. Cost to participate in this event is $36 which includes the competition fee and lunch.
